Collecting maintenance payments from the debtor

A person obligated may pay his current debt by means of a standing order in favor of the National Insurance, within 45 days since the date of our notification of approval of a maintenance claim.

  • Unless standing order payments are received within 45 days since reception of our notification, debt collection will be pursued through the Law Enforcement and Collection Authority (LECA), exclusively.
  • If the person obligated chooses to pay by other means, he must contact the LECA, and arrange payment within 45 days of the date of our notification of approval of maintenance claim.
  • If the sums collected from the obligated person – as specified in the court judgment – exceed the payments made to the wife according to regulations, the National Insurance Institute will transfer the difference to the wife.

Information on debt

If the debtor wishes to check his debt toward the National Insurance, and there is an existing file at LECA - he needs to contact the Law Enforcement and Collection Authority on their call center at *35592.
